US Clocks Go Back: End of Daylight Saving Time

Daylight Saving Time ends in the United States and Canada on the first Sunday of November, when clocks go back from 2:00am to 1:00am local time. Because each timezone changes at its own 2:00am, the shift sweeps across the continent over several hours rather than happening at a single instant. New York returns to Eastern Standard Time (UTC−5) and Los Angeles to Pacific Standard Time (UTC−8). Hawaii and most of Arizona do not observe DST at all. This is the week the usual five-hour gap between the UK and the US east coast is restored, after seven days at four hours.
